Thanks to a Colleague, I`m Rethinking My Mornings

While scheduling a meeting with a colleague in the U.S., I noticed his first hour to hour and a half was consistently blocked off.
Curious, I checked his calendar and found a simple but powerful note:
“Hi, this is my focus hour where I get much work done. Please schedule meetings at other times unless absolutely necessary.”
Although the wide time zone difference made it a bit inconvenient for me, I couldn’t help but respect him even more for setting such a clear boundary. No wonder his ideas and the quality of his work are so outstanding.
It made me reflect on my own habits.
Too often, I’m tempted to dive straight into emails or rush through my to-do list the moment I sit down. But carving out the first 30 minutes to prioritize, plan, and think — instead of just reacting — makes all the difference.
Trying to better differentiate between feeling productive and actually being productive.
