Not your fault but your responsibility
Your customer released press release on starting to use one of our competitors.
Suddenly a rather small customer is under big spotlight.
You just said hi first time online last week. The first thought that comes to mind, “This is not my fault.” “How the hell would I know, I just said hi last week.” “Urgh am I going to get blamed for this?”
Then you thought, oh this is one of those moments.
Not your fault, but your responsibility.
So, you make up your mind. Rather than sending an excuse email of oh I don’t know I just got handed over, you list all the potential contacts you can reach out to.
Send chats, emails, and pick up the phone.
It is not comfortable yes, but you get to know more.
The discomfort in these kind of moments could serve as good sign. A compass. You are going the right direction.
