Joy of serving seasonal fruits for friends

As a foreigner in 20s living in Tokyo, fruits are quite hard to come by.
Some of it is due to price, and more often it is just too much work to wait for the right timing (until it is just ripe), wash, peel, cut and clean up.

However, it is kind of like magic that all those hurdles mentioned above melts away when it comes to serving it to a group of friends. Knowing that many of them must be the same(not eating fruits daily), it brings more joy to prepare and serve it.

The 4 persimmons that were sitting on our kitchen counter for 4 to 5 days, were just ripe to serve.

Pleasure without guilt, and the taste and feel of autumn.
Looking at friends enjoy it with surprise is a big bonus.

People are amazing in that they often can do so much more for others than to help one-self. I guess I have to work on taking care of myself like taking care of a good friend.
